Extended Mathematics 11 Systems of Linear Inequalities
Specific Curriculum Outcomes
RF01 Model and solve problems that involve systems of linear inequalities in two variables.

RF01 Activities
- Starting at the End (Linear Inequalities) from I Speak Math - 7th grade students knit scarves for patrons of the Mooresville Soup Kitchen every year during the holidays. To begin linear inequalities Julie Reulbach proposed a business. Students were going to knit scarves and afghans to sell, and donate the proceeds to charity. A description of this activity using Desmos is included in a webinar from Eli Luberoff, the creator of Desmos.

- Inequalities from Mathematics for Students - Information on using Desmos for linear inequalities and links to lessons and other resources for inequalities.
- A Better Question from Heather Kohn - Heather asked her students to find similarities and differences between a system of equations and a system of inequalities. She made the activity into a debate. Instead of asking her kids to find differences, she asked them to find the biggest difference between the systems. Likewise, she asked the students to find the biggest similarity. Suddenly her room came alive with debate as students argued about which similarity or difference was the most significant.
