- Removing Judges' Bias is an Olympic Sized Challenge - An article from the Wall Street Journal regarding trimmed means in scoring.
- Trimmed Mean - Watch just about any diving competition video. You will notice that there are typically 7 judges and the lowest 2 and highest 2 scores are removed and the middle three are averaged and multiplied by the degree of difficulty.
